The family manages its fund that has been invested in Pakistan’s equity market. The fund size is comparable to a mid-size mutual fund. We generate alphas based on our extensive in-house research along with collaboratingwith leading sell-side brokerages as well as partnering with other esteemed investors. The public equity markets in Pakistan are under-penetrated (250k unique investors in a 220m population country) and underserved when compared to regional peers. We will start publishing our investment case reports on social media to educate more people about thinking categorically about risk-return dynamics of any particular investment.

The family has an extensive real estate portfolio with land holdings in the commercial, residential and industrial sectors. We have been actively involved in the construction of multi-story projects, joining hands with the most prominent builders of the country. One of the larger projects that the family was involved in was the “Halima Towers” 15 stories building situated at main Shaheed-e-Millat Karachi. Our real estate holdings generate recurring cash flow for the company.

The company has recently turned its attention to the burgeoning Venture Capital space in Pakistan. We believe technology and entrepreneurship can be a solution to Pakistan’s structural woes. It will allow the country to achieve inclusive growth by reaching out to large parts of the population that do not have access to formal funding in today’s environment. Eventually, it will also allow the government to document large parts of the economy and ensure greater tax collection for its redistributive and development agenda. The family areLPs in leading local venture capital funds and are looking to invest in founders directly to be a part of their journey to change the Pakistan landscape.

We are looking for an investment with cheque sizes of 300k-500k USD but will be willing to underwrite larger ticket sizes for the right opportunities. The Family also has commercial real estate assets in UAE that include a flagship building in Ajman.We do warehousing for industrial clients and are studying ways to divert that capacity towards warehousing for e-commerce. We have also expanded into co-working spaces in Pakistan.
